Location Came to ‘Life’ With Greenery and Landscape Construction For Popular BBC One TV Drama Series.
Released in 2020 on BBC One as the ‘must see’ relationship drama series, Life – with brilliant scenes proudly filmed in Manchester and Cheshire – starred a stellar cast including Alison Steadman, Peter Davison and Adrian Lester.
Life’s six-part series explores birth, death and everything in between. It follows the stories and intertwined lives of Manchester residents who live in a large Victorian house that’s been divided into four luxury flats.
The grand house was just one of a number of locations that Wainwright’s talented team set dressed, turning the garden at the front and surrounding area of the house into a desirable plot with glorious greenery and props.Aerial and exterior photos show how the set required vast quantities of real trees, shrubs, hedging, plants and flowers. Through the introduction of plants, foliage and landscape construction the set looked fit for filming.
Shot in summer 2020, it was a fantastic experience for Wainwright to work in partnership with the ‘Life’ production team for all their set dressing, greenery and prop needs. From set preparation – where we arrive first on site to enable the safety of cast and crew – to reinstatement of the site, Wainwright’s team were always on-hand to facilitate and work closely with the team.
We helped facilitate the smooth running of set dressing with minimal disruption to the owners property and land.
